IBC Postpartum Doula Services Agreement
Responsibilities and Limitations:
DOULA, agrees to provide non-medical physical, emotional, and informational support after the birth of CLIENT'S baby. DOULA will help with self-care recovery, postpartum comfort measures, infant care, parenting information, and provides assistance with learning to feed and take care of CLIENT'S baby. Practical support will include preparing simple meals and snacks, getting frequent drinks, household organization, running errands and answering phone and door, if desired.The tasks performed each day will depend on the priorities discussed by all parties, before beginning services,and on CLIENT needs that day.
DOULA does not do major housecleaning tasks, such as mopping, washing windows or yard work. DOULA will not transport clients to appointments. DOULA will not take over all care of the baby or care of other siblings.
We are available for phone consultations and email questions in late pregnancy, and we encourage you to call with questions or updates. Your doula is available for a prenatal consultation at the below mentioned hourly rates.
IBC and IBC doulas will not claim any medical responsibility for injuries or incidental and punitive damages suffered by the client. The clients recognize that the doula is not responsible for health of the mother or baby.
Monday-Friday 9am-10pm: $25/hour
Weekends and Overnight: $35/hour (unless otherwise negotiated)
A non-refundable signing fee of $150 is due at the time of contracting doula services (no later than 39 weeks), $50 of this fee will be applied to postpartum services. A minimum of 8 hours of services is required.
Payment should be made to: Informed Birth Choices, LLC, Informed Birth Choices 5 Payson Ave., Catonsville MD 21228.
Payment is due at the end of each week. Please make checks payable to your doula. The doula requires at least 48 hours of notice prior to beginning services. The doula requires at least 24 hours notice for late cancellations on the part of the family due to illness or last-minute conflicts.
In the event that less than 24 hours notice is given, a $25.00 late-cancellation fee will apply.
Refunds and Special Circumstances:
This fee does not apply in the event of severe weather condition cancellations.There are occasionally events which are unpredictable and may affect the dates previously agreed upon (vacation or upcoming births). In the event of illness or an emergency on the part of the DOULA, every effort will be made to reschedule services at another time. If any payment for that day has already been made, it will be applied to future service. This policy will also apply to severe weather condition cancellations.
Prior to signing this agreement, the DOULA shall disclose any potential scheduling difficulties she anticipates which may interfere with services. CLIENTS are on a first come, first served basis. If DOULA is ever unable to provide any postpartum support due to unpredictable scheduling conflicts, she agrees to either find a replacement doula or refund the deposit.
